A few weeks back, Michael & I took the dog and headed east on the 8 freeway out of San Diego to Mt. Laguna Recreation Area – less than an hour outside the city, but truly worlds away. We secured the most remote campsite at Burnt Rancheria, a short walk from the Pacific Crest Trail. Our fabulous company that weekend included our dear friends Joshua, Ted, Jessica, and Andy. The weekend was a blur of trails, views, guitars, and campfires. After spending a few hours on the PCH, I will definitely be investing in some new hiking shoes. Also, by happenstance, my book club pick at the time was Wild: From Lost to Found on the PCH by Cheryl Strayed, which both Oprah and I highly recommend.
